Everyone interested in the responsible use of AI at the ASF is welcome to follow the work and take part. The initiative follows the Apache Way, and its discussion list is open to ASF Members.

Join the discussion

• Mailing list: discuss@rai.apache.org, open to ASF Members. Send an email to discuss-subscribe@rai.apache.org to subscribe, or browse the archives.
• Chat: ask to be invited to the #rai-discuss channel on the ASF Slack.

Introduce yourself, share what your project is doing with AI, and tell us where expanded model access or tooling would help. Volunteers are currently organizing around four work streams — Security, Innovation, Policy, and Education, Adoption & Outreach — reply on the mailing list if you'd like to join one.

This site lives in the apache/rai-site repository. Pages are written in Markdown under content/pages/, and the site is built with Pelican.

• For a small fix, edit a page directly on GitHub (the pencil icon) and open a pull request.
• For larger changes, open a branch or a GitHub issue to discuss first.

Help build the initiative

The initiative brings together contributors from across the Foundation — Infrastructure, Security, Tooling, the Incubator, and individual projects. If you would like to help with a specific area, say hello on the mailing list and we will point you to where the work is happening.
